Shira Fuchs

(Israel), Violin

Shira Fuchs was born in 2011 in Israel. Shira has been studying the violin since the age of 4.5 years old, under Mrs. Svetlana Avraham at the Raanana Music Center and is a member of the Raanana Youth Symphony Orchestra Since 2022. She has won the gold Prize (Young Artist aged 12 & under category) at the 2023 London Young Musician competition (online), 2023 London Young Musician –Musician of the Year Online Competition, Young Artist Category- Violinist of the Year Award and Annual Maestro Violin Performance. She has won first Prizes in the following competitions: 2023 Keshet Eran national competition, 2021 VIII Stockholm International Music Competition (Online), 2020 Musical spring competition, 2020 Musical Virtuoso competition, 2019 Musical spring competition, 2019 Young Virtuoso competition and more. Shira has been an AICF study scholarship recipient since 2023. She is a graduate of Keshet Eilon winter and spring seminars.

Yasmin Said

(Israel), Violin

Yasmin Said was born in Haifa, Israel in 2005 and has been studying the violin since the age of six. She was awarded the AICF special scholarship in 2019, 2021, and 2023. In August 2022, Yasmin won the gold prize in the young artist category and the special prize for Great Technique at the Cambridge music competition. The following month, she won the 1st-degree prize for her age category at the Gates of Hope International musical virtual festival competition. In March 2023, Yasmin won the first prize in her age category at the Israeli competition for string instruments called ‘Keshet Eran’. She also attended a masterclass with the renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov in September 2022. In April 2023, Yasmin performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra. Yasmin has participated in Keshet Eilon seminars and Mastercourses.

Michelle Bushkova

(Russia/Israel), Violin

Michelle Bushkova, born in Moscow in 2004, began playing the violin at age 4. She attended the Central Music School by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with Galina Turchaninova, and Evgeny Bushkov. Currently she studies at Cleveland Institute of Music with Ilya Kaler and Olga Dubossarskaya-Kaler. She has played with “Moscow Virtuosi” and “New Russia” Symphony orchestras in Moscow and philharmonic orchestras of Saratov, Yaroslavl, Ankara, Istanbul, and Portland. She participated in international music festivals like: “Keshet Eilon” (Israel) “Stay-in-May” (Florida, US), “Musica Mundi” (Belgium), NYMF in Gstaad (Switzerland), “Moscow Autumn” (Moscow), “Siletz Bay” (Oregon, US). She is a laureate of “Goldene Note” (Vienna), Manhattan International Competition, Berlin International Competition, Chicago International Competition. Michelle has been participating in Keshet Eilon International String mastercourses since 2018.

Jihyeuk Choi

(USA), Cello

New York City-raised Korean-American cellist Jihyeuk Choi is a soloist and a chamber musician. Having the honor of winning international competitions such as the 2022 MEDICI Competition, the 6th New York International Competition, the 4th Hong Kong International Competition, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Youth Chamber Music Competition, Choi has appeared in professional venues throughout Asia and the United States including his solo debut with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong at the Hong Kong City Hall, Weill Hall/Zankel Hall at the Carnegie, Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, and many more. Choi has supplemented his professional studies by participating in international music festivals including the Clarion Society Collegium, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Heifetz International Festival. Choi is a proud alumnus of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of cellist Amit Peled along with other notorious mentors. Choi is currently pursuing the Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of cellist Lluís Claret, with the honor of being a member of the 2023- 2024 Honors Ensemble-Trio Nomad. Choi is a Keshet Eilon International String Mastercourse graduate.

Hina Khuong-Huu

(USA), Violin

First-Prize winner of the 2023 Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, violinist Hina Khuong-Huu has performed around the globe, appearing as a soloist and collaborator with many of today’s leading ensembles and musicians. 2023-2024 season includes Kennedy Center debut, performing alongside Grammy Award-winner Jennifer Koh. She will also be featured soloist with The Symphonia in Boca Raton, under the direction of Alastair Willis, for Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir D’un Lieu Cher. Hina will be performing an interpretation of Ravel’s Tzigane when she appears with the Northbrook Symphony under the leadership of Mina Zikri and Vadim Gluzman. Hina will also join forces with the critically acclaimed pianist Rohan De Silva for an intimate program on the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota in Florida. Hina’s mentors include such luminaries as Shlomo Mintz, Vadim Gluzman, and Menahem Pressler. Hina studies with Professors Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman at The Juilliard School and Columbia University.

Fiona Khuong-Huu

(USA), Violin

Born in New York, Sixteen-year-old Fiona Khuong-Huu started the violin at the age of three and has attended the Juilliard Pre-College Division since the age of ten, studying with Professors Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman. Most recently, Fiona debuted with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Maestro Thomas Wilkins. She has had the honor of performing in the presence of King Charles at Lancaster House with the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Marios Papadopoulos, with whom she has performed as soloist at the Windsor Castle and the Frick Collection of New York, and in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium and the Buckingham Palace along with Maxim Vengerov. Fiona was awarded the prestigious Career Grant Award from Salon de Virtuosi in 2021 and more. She has participated in chamber music festivals such as Music Northwest and the Heifetz Institute. She attends the Spence School in New York. Fiona is a graduate of the Keshet Eilon International String Mastercourse.

Matthew Graybil

(USA), Piano

Praised by The New Yorker as an “exceptional young artist” American pianist Matthew Graybil has performed throughout the United States, Canada, France and Holland and Mexico in venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, Le Poisson Rouge, Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center and Lincoln Center. He has appeared on radio and television, including WNYC, WQXR, WWFM, CBS Chicago, the Discovery Channel and PBS. Since making his orchestral debut at age 14, he has performed with the Fort Worth Symphony and the National Chamber Players among others. He has been a prizewinner in the MTNA/Yamaha National Piano Competition, the New York Piano Competition, the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, the Juilliard Gina Bachauer Competition, Missouri Southern International Piano Competition and the Wideman International Piano Competition. Graybil was a pupil of Harvey Wedeen for six years and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School, where he worked with Jerome Lowenthal and Matti Raekallio.

We celebrate the unifying force of music, recognizing its unique ability to bring together people from diverse backgrounds, including Jewish and Arab Israelis, as well as young musicians from around the world.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER MASTERCOURSE: A TRANSFORMATIONAL EXPERIENCE

The journey to become an internationally renowned musician is multi-faceted. Keshet Eilon’s International Summer Mastercourse is a step on this journey to excellence, and is tailored to the unique needs of gifted young musicians from all over the world. Our distinguished faculty are comprised of accomplished musicians and educators who are dedicated to cultivating excellence in every student. The faculty provide personalized guidance, empowering students to reach their full potential while nurturing the talents of tomorrow’s virtuosos. Masterclasses with acclaimed artists, invaluable concert hall performance opportunities, and chamber music and ensemble coaching round out the rich program provided during this three-week course. Alumni of this extraordinary experience, many of whom become accomplished professional musicians themselves, often become ambassadors for Israel.

SEMI-ANNUAL SEMINARS FOR YOUNG ISRAELI STRING STUDENTS

We believe in breaking cultural barriers and promoting understanding through the transformative power of music. The winter and spring semi-annual seminars bring together Jewish and Arab Israeli string students to hone their skills as individual players and in ensembles. The seminars are led by Keshet Eilon world-renowned senior faculty and are aimed at nurturing promising young students over long weekend intensives.

With the onset of the war, the winter and spring seminars were moved to Raanana in central Israel.

For those living in western Galilee on the Lebanese border and having limited access to culture, the sounds of Keshet Eilon are an ongoing opportunity to experience the timeless beauty of music. The series is offered yearly from October – June and attracts music lovers in the region.

From the beginning of the war, many residents of these communities were evacuated from their homes, which has put these much-loved concerts on hold.
